Pondwater
Hi! My name is Cheska, the artist behind Pondwatur. I'm an illustrator and short-form animator who loves blending traditional charm with playful movement. Specializing in cartoons and whimsical art, I bring your unique visions to life, creating stories that leap from the page. I often create on recycled paper or through cyanotypes as well.
Your Voice and Your Vision is Important
-
If I'm not trying to connect the art/story with myself - I'm doing my best to connect with the person I'm creating visuals for. I do extensive research about why a vision in someone's head (and heart) is important to them and do my best to understand what message they're trying to convey, by doing what I can to see what they see. I think connecting with others is important. When you take the time to do so, that effort is positively felt.
Everyone has their own story, their whole life - their whole reason for feeling. I think that's incredibly beautiful and unique, and so very human.
To be completely honest, I didn't think I'd get this far without feeling the love and support I get from those around me. Love spreads, it concurs, and I want to be able to show others that I care as well.

About Pondwatur
I spent my childhood drawing on my homework, passing silly doodles during class to make them laugh (we'd get in trouble) and creating characters and worlds I wish I could meet and visit. This never left me, and the older I got the more I realized that I loved creating because of the connections. I felt so much closer to others when I was able to create for them, make them laugh, cry, feel seen. I also felt closer to my core, challenging myself to create new and difficult things because it helped me understand the parts of me I never thought I could.
